COMMENTARY
13:3,4
And one of its heads was as though it had been slain to death; and its fatal wound was healed. And all the earth wondered after the beast, and they worshipped the dragon, because he gave authority to the beast, and they worshipped the beast, saying,
'Who is like unto the beast, and, who is able to make war with it?'

13:5
And it was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority was given to it to continue forty-two months.
3½ years (half-a-seven) or 1260 days
13:6
And it opened its mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, those tabernacling in Heaven.

13:7,8
And it was given to it "to make war with the saints and to overcome them," and authority was given to it over every tribe and people and language and nation. And all those dwelling on the earth shall worship it, those whose name has not been written in the scroll of life of the little Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.
Daniel 7:21
13:9,10
If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
If any man is for [in favour of] captivity, into captivity he goes; if any man will kill with the sword, with the sword he must be killed.
Here is the endurance and the faith [confidence] of the saints.
"What you sow you shall reap" Gal.6:7
The essence of justice. (Not fatalism!)
13:11
And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and it had two horns like a little lamb and spoke as a dragon.

13:12-14
And it exercises all the authority of the first beast before it.
And it makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. And it does great signs, so that it even makes fire to come down out of heaven onto the earth before men. And it deceives those dwelling on the earth by the signs which it was given to do before the beast, telling those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the beast, who has the stroke of the sword and lived again.

13:15-17
And it was given to it to give a spirit to the image to the beast, so that the image of the beast could even speak, and might make as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
And it makes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, both the free and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead; so that no one could buy or sell, except the one having the mark, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
13:18
Here is wisdom.
The one having understanding, let him count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. And its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
See: 666
14:1
And I saw, and see, the little Lamb standing on the mount Zion, and with Him a hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name, and the name of His Father, written on their foreheads.
144,000 = 12 x 12 x 1000
'Name' in contrast to the mark of Antichrist!
14:2,3
And I heard a voice out of Heaven, as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of loud thunder, and the sound which I heard was as the sound of harpers harping with their harps. And they sing a new song before the throne, and before the four Animals and the Seniors; and no one could learn the song except the hundred and forty-four thousand, the ones purchased from the earth.
Uniqueness of Christ's people.
14:4,5
These are those who were not defiled with women; for they are celibates. These are the ones following the little Lamb wheresoever He may go. These were purchased from mankind as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb, and in their mouth no lie was found, they are unblemished.

14:6,7
And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having an eternal gospel to declare over those sitting on the earth and over every nation and tribe and language and people, saying in a loud voice,
'Fear God, and give glory to Him, because the hour of His judgment has come,
and worship "the One who made the heaven and the earth and sea" and springs of waters.'
Exodus 20:11;
Psalm 146:6.
14:8
And another, a second angel, followed, saying,
'Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great,
which made all the nations drink of the wine of the anger of her fornication.'

14:9-11
And another angel, a third, followed them, saying in a loud voice,
'If any man worships the beast and its image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or on his hand,
he also shall drink of the wine of the anger of God prepared undiluted in the cup of His wrath,
and will be tormented by fire and sulphur before the holy angels, and before the little Lamb.
And the smoke of their torment rises up forever and ever, and they have no rest day and night,
the ones worshipping the beast and its image, and anyone who receives the mark of its name.'

14:12-14
Here is the endurance of the saints, those keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
And I heard the voice out of Heaven saying,
'Write: Blessed are the dead, those dying in the Lord from now on.
Yes, says the Spirit, so that they shall rest from their labours; for their work follows with them.'
And I saw, and see, a white cloud, and on the cloud one like a son of man sitting, having on his head a golden crown*, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
The Holy Spirit (who was given to the Church) confirms the words of the Lord Jesus.

*στέφανος / stephanos, victory-garland, NOT a crown of royalty! This is also not the Lord Jesus, for Christ is not instructed by any angel. This victorious human represents the now restored-humanity in God's people through Christ, His Church, reaping the earth for God.
Church victorious is ready
for the final harvest.
14:15,16
And another angel went forth out of the shrine, crying in a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud,
'Thrust your sickle and reap,
because the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth has dried.'
And the one sitting on the cloud thrust his sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.
14:17-20
Another angel went forth out of the shrine in Heaven, also having a sharp sickle.
And another angel went forth out of the altar, the one having authority over the fire; and he spoke in a loud voice to the one having the sharp sickle, saying,
'Thrust your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth,
because its grapes have ripened.'
And the angel thrust his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth and threw it into the great winepress of the anger of God. And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood went out of the winepress as far as the bridles of the horses, from a thousand six hundred stadia.
In contrast!
God's judgment.
